So when I last updated I mentioned being transferred to a new attraction to gain more experience so I could move up in the company. Well I've just recently finished my OJT (on-the-job-training) and pulled my first shift on my own. It was a rather successful training and first day. During my training I learned a lot and realized there might actually be a little method to the madness of the idiotic supervisors that manage the attractions. There is a lot that goes into running my new attraction. It takes a lot of people working together to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that everyone stays safe. I have a new found respect for the Leads that handle the daily operation of the attraction.
My new found respect and the news of annual merit raises being cut, has made me even more determined than ever to move as quickly as possible to get trained in all aspects of the attraction. This includes being lockers and controls trained. I talked with my supervisor this morning and he said that if I was ready in about 3-4 weeks he'd go ahead and get me controls trained. That way I'd be ready for lead interviews in June. He said hopefully I'd be a lead before the end of summer. I've got my fingers crossed. It's good to finally have a supervisor who is willing to help me move up in the company.
There may not be a whole lot of light at the end of the tunnel, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let that stop be. At least there's still some hope left for me and this company. Hope everyone is doing well wherever you are. Don't forget to keep in touch.
