New Year, New Goals

So let's face it, most people don't usually keep their New Year's resolutions. I am no exception to that rule. Making and keeping any resolution is just not an option. Therefore I have decided to just set realistic, reachable goals for myself this year. Nothing crazy and only a few I know I can stick with to completion.

Goal #1: Health & Exercise
This isn't one of those outrageous 'I'm going to lose 100 lbs. by summer' things. I'm thinking more along the lines of 'I'm going to take the stairs instead of the elevator' or 'I'm not going to have seconds' or 'I'm going to have 1 soda a day instead of 2'. You know, stuff I can stick to easily. One thing's for sure though, I'm definitely going to play softball again this year with my co-workers. It was fun and I got a little exercise.

Goal #2: Job & Finance
This goal is pretty straight forward. I just need to keep looking and applying for jobs. I've still got my full-time gig with Universal, but let's face it I'm barely surviving with what I get paid. I know the economy sucks right now, but maybe I'll get a break. I'd like to be able to pay off my debt and save some money for a place of my own. So until than, no more trips...anywhere. It's time you guys come visit me. One of these days (sometime soon) every single one of you will break down and come to Florida. Hey lodging's free and I so is a trip to Universal. Come on, you know you want to visit me :o)

Goal #3: Social Stuff
OK, this one is probably going to be the hardest of my goals. Being the hermit that I am, becoming a more social person is going to be damn near impossible. I mean hell, I don't even really socialize all that much with my roommates (luv you guys!). So here's the plan, invite people over or out to do stuff (preferably free stuff). Great plan, right? Well, I've already put this plan into motion. We had an impromptu BCS National Championship Game party at the apartment last night. Some people from work came over to watch the game and hang out. Overall it turned out pretty good. We'll see how long this goal lasts.

Other than the goals and the party, there's nothing new happening or anything to really complain about. Well there is stuff to complain about, but that's for another time. I've got my health, a place to live, a job and food to eat so all-in-all life is good. Hope everything is going well with everyone, wherever you are. Miss you all and remember to keep in touch.

TTYL,

~Mari~

I would never view you as a hermit. You are one of the most outgoing, funny and social person I know. Maybe I am the hermit. Good luck with your goals I think you will nail them.
